My parents are AKC registered but my former parents didn't register me. I am very laid back and get along with everyone and other pets, as long as you aren't a small male dog. I do have a prey drive and can catch a rabbit or squirrel with the best of them so a fenced yard will be very important to my safety. I am housebroken and crate trained. Ok, I will go in the crate but I might bark and whine a bit while I am in there. I would rather be with people and dogs rather than alone. But I understand that I need to go in there when the humans are not at home. At night I would love to be in bed with you, but I am very content laying on a blanket or bed right next to your bed. My health is good and I'm on heart worm meds every month. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines and anxiously awaiting a family to call my own. My adoption fee is $450. Meet Mr. Ed a sweet, lovable guy! You can't tell this love bug came from a shelter because his favorite place is cuddled next to you on the couch or by your feet. He is social with other dogs and a generally mellow boy. He walks very well on a leash. He would much rather walk right next to you than to lead the way. The only thing that might side track his walk is another dog as he wants to play; however, squirrels and deer don't seem to interest him much. He gets along well with his foster sister and family (kids 7 and 9). He is actually great with kids, approaching them calmly and allowing them to pet, scratch (the loving kind) and ... (Read More)hug him. And even at 120 lbs, he doesn't even bump into them, but you might get a tail licking because it is wagging with joy when people come around. He would do well in most homes as he loves people and dogs; however as he does like to play, he may do better in a home with larger dogs. We are not sure how he will do with cats. He shows no signs of aggression towards people, other dogs, or around food. He is generally obedient; however, is learning basic commands. He does know sit and down. He's neutered, crate-trained, and does well being left out for extended periods of time. He is about 5 years old, up to date on his shots and micro-chipped, and is looking forward to a home to call his own. Young energetic female looking for home with a mellow large male dog, or maybe even as an only dog where I could get ALL the attention! I love children but might knock a small one over while playing.
